STORY 1

Where do I start? How do I even begin?

The noise in my head has become such a din.

I fear the unknown while he fears the truth.

Why should I carry the burden of proof?

I didn’t ask for this. I didn’t even know.

What do you mean he put me on show?

I was sleeping soundly, or so I thought.

The whole time he was praying he didn’t get caught.

Checking my eyes to make sure I was asleep,

so he could carry out his wicked deceit.

The bruises and confusion, I didn’t understand it.

Going to the doctors had become quite the habit.

I had somehow failed to see that some nights

he chose to violate me.

Using my own medication to his advantage,

I had no idea he was that savage.

I was sleeping, but not so soundly.

How could he boast about this so proudly?

I didn’t know he was such a creep,

or he would abuse me in my sleep.

For 18 months that monster slept in my bed.

Never did I think he would fuck up my head.

I had no choice but to put my faith in the police.

They had to investigate this at least.

What would they uncover?

What would they find?

There is so much still running through my mind.

Months of waiting with nothing happening.

I don’t know how many times I’ve seen him in passing.

I held it together while trying to heal.

I couldn’t stand the feelings I had to feel.

I finally got the call.

Police are going to arrest.

Now the investigation has eventually progressed.

Three charges they declared.

They had evidence for them all.

I felt so relieved after getting that call.

Now the process to justice can begin.

It’s time for the court to decide on his sin.

I know the court process is long and weary,

but I swear as fuck I won’t give up easily.

The scales of justice will decide.

There is nowhere for him to hide.

What will happen I really don’t know.

I didn’t ask to become Jane Doe.

So while the scales balance, I will wait

and keep educating the world about

drug-facilitated sleep rape.
